An unknown person shot at two people in a vehicle near Mountain View Drive and North Boniface Parkway in Anchorage at about 10:57 pm Thursday, hitting one of them, police said.

The wounded person was shot in the lower body and taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, the Anchorage Police Department said in a news alert Friday. The alert gives no description of the shooter.

No one has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Police also reported an earlier shooting Thursday. In that one, officers were called at about 12:21 to reports of shots fired near Cordova Street and East 2nd Avenue, on the east side of downtown, according to a separate alert that didn't say whether that was a.m. or p.m. Officers found a man with injuries that were not life-threatening at Bragaw Street and Mountain View Drive, and shortly after found a vehicle that had crashed in the 300 block of Concrete Street. Police arrested a 23-year-old man who faces four felony charges, the most serious a class A weapons count.

Neither alert says whether the two shootings are connected.
