Tessera hiring event comes to Mat-Su Job Center July 29

Veterans, military spouses, and people with disabilities in the Mat-Su Borough can meet directly with a hiring employer when Tessera holds a free recruitment event at the Mat-Su Job Center in Wasilla on Wednesday, July 29. The event is open to the public.

The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at 877 W. Commercial Drive. No appointment is needed. Attendees can learn about current openings, what Tessera looks for in applicants, the hiring process, and employee benefits. Bringing copies of a resume is encouraged.

Tessera offers careers in facility management, manufacturing, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, janitorial services, and grounds management. The company maintains a Veterans Employee Resource Group, participates in the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, and says it provides reasonable accommodations including flexible scheduling, adaptive technology, and workflow support for employees with disabilities. "Tessera is deeply committed to supporting our veterans," the company says on its employment page, noting that staff are trained to understand military culture and that the company assists employees in obtaining VA medical documentation.

Job seekers who need resume help before meeting with Tessera can stop by the Mat-Su Job Center ahead of the event. Staff provide walk-in assistance at no charge.

The Mat-Su Job Center is part of the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development's statewide Job Center Network. The center hosts recurring employer recruitment events throughout the year, including Municipality of Anchorage hiring sessions on the last Friday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon.
