Wasilla hiring event features employer with no listed openings

An employer recruiting session runs noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mat-Su Job Center, 877 W. Commercial Drive in Wasilla.

The employer is Tessera, a nonprofit whose public contact information lists Bremerton, Washington. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development describes it as committed to supporting people with disabilities and veterans, and says staff will discuss the hiring process and what the organization looks for in applicants.

Tessera's own careers page currently states that all positions are filled and asks visitors to check back later. The session looks more like networking against future openings than a chance to apply now.

The department asks attendees to bring copies of a resume. Help preparing one is available at the center beforehand, and applicants who need accommodation can contact Tessera directly.
