Starplex recruits Alaska State Fair seasonal staff Aug. 18 in Wasilla
Certified flaggers can earn $25 an hour working the Alaska State Fair, and Starplex Corp. will take applications in person next week in Wasilla.
Starplex representatives will meet job seekers at the Mat-Su Job Center, 877 Commercial Drive, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. The company is also hiring parking staff at $16 an hour and event staff at $15 an hour. Applicants are asked to bring a resume if they have one and can apply directly with the employer on site.
The recruitment is listed by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, which operates the job center. The Mat-Su Job Center can be reached at 907-352-2500.
The fair's own employment page says its seasonal openings are hired in May, with most beginning in June. It directs applicants to apply online, download and fax a PDF application, or deliver it to 2075 Glenn Hwy. in Palmer.
The Wasilla center has hosted a steady run of employer recruitments this summer. Alaska News previously covered an Alaska Department of Public Safety recruiter meeting job seekers there on Aug. 5, and a Tessera hiring event on July 29.
