Starplex recruits Alaska State Fair seasonal staff Aug. 18 in Wasilla

Certified flaggers can earn $25 an hour working the Alaska State Fair, and Starplex Corp. will take applications in person next week in Wasilla.

Starplex representatives will meet job seekers at the Mat-Su Job Center, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. The company is also hiring parking staff at $16 an hour and event staff at $15 an hour. Applicants are asked to bring a resume if they have one and can apply directly with the employer on site.

The flyer describes the jobs as temporary and seasonal. The fair itself runs Aug. 21 through Sept. 7.

More employers are due at the same job center. The department's listings show a Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union employer spotlight there on Wednesday, Aug. 26, a state Department of Corrections recruiting workshop from 3 to 4 p.m. every Friday, and a Municipality of Anchorage recruitment from 9 a.m. to noon on the last Friday of each month.
