Sterling Highway closed in both directions at Milepost 164 after collision

A multiple-vehicle collision has closed the Sterling Highway in both directions at Milepost 164. Drivers are being detoured onto the Old Sterling Highway.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities issued the closure notice at 3:11 p.m. AKDT. The alert window runs until 11:10 p.m. AKDT the same night. The department said the highway will likely stay closed for several hours.
