A child reported missing in Sterling on Monday evening was found unharmed on the family's property and reunited with their parents, Alaska State Troopers said.

When troopers got the call at 5:55 pm, the report said the child had been missing since about 4:30 pm, according to the troopers' dispatch.

Troopers and Central Emergency Services searched, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service sent a drone that can detect body heat.

The child was found on the property at about 7:25 pm, nearly three hours after the time the child was first reported missing. Troopers didn't release the child's age.
