Alaska Corrections holds weekly recruiting sessions in Wasilla

The Alaska Department of Corrections holds recruiting sessions every Friday afternoon at the Mat-Su Job Center in Wasilla as part of an ongoing effort to hire correctional officers.

The sessions run from 3 to 4 p.m. at 877 W Commercial Drive. The department is hiring for multiple Correctional Officer 2 positions at Goose Creek Correctional Complex. Pay is competitive, with shift differentials based on experience. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development distributed the announcement.

The positions are full-time with advancement potential. Correctional officers work an 84-hour week on a week-on, week-off schedule with alternating day and night shifts. New hires complete a six-week training academy in Palmer.
