Interior Secretary Burgum to address Alaska energy conference

U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will join Governor Mike Dunleavy at the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference in Anchorage next week, his second year at the event.

Burgum also serves as Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council.

Burgum will take the stage with Dunleavy on Tuesday, May 19 for the lunch plenary presentation, moderated by Veriten Founder and CEO Maynard Holt. The conference runs from May 19 through May 21.

The secretary's participation is part of a multi-day trip across Alaska, according to the governor's office.

"Alaska is tremendously fortunate to have Sec. Doug Burgum at the helm of the Department of Interior," Dunleavy said. "He has already delivered on several promises to Alaska, and I am looking forward to him joining me on stage at the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference to share what is next for unleashing Alaska's extraordinary resource potential."

Burgum said he was honored to join Dunleavy at the conference. "Under President Donald J. The fifth annual Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference will bring together energy industry leaders, policymakers, investors and researchers from at least 35 U.S. states and 10 countries. Nearly 100 speakers will cover topics including liquefied natural gas and North Slope development, advanced nuclear power, the future of renewables, rural energy solutions, critical minerals, and carbon capture and storage technologies.
