Homer man arrested on eight counts in Anchor Point home burglary

A burglar stripped an Anchor Point residence of nearly every item and drove off with multiple vehicles, Alaska State Troopers said, describing an Aug. 4 report.

Troopers arrested James Longero, 29, of Homer, who faces eight counts: first-degree burglary, a class B felony; three counts of first-degree vehicle theft; second-degree theft; second-degree forgery; removal of identification marks; and first-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

The charges are accusations, not findings of guilt.

In a separate case, troopers say Longero stole and sold two vehicles from a Soldotna-area property on Aug. 5 and 6. An owner-installed tracking device led troopers to them in Anchor Point. He was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on two more first-degree vehicle theft counts and a conditions-of-release violation.
