Anchorage police arrested three people early Friday as they tried to flee Mountain View Elementary School after multiple alarms went off, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

Officers were dispatched around 4:17 am to a report of the alarms and found the three trying to leave the school, police said in a report.

Two of those arrested are juveniles. They were taken to the McLaughlin Youth Center, a state Division of Juvenile Justice facility that includes detention units. The third, an 18-year-old, was taken to the Anchorage Correctional Center.

All three face charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief, police said. The charges are allegations, and no court has ruled on them.

Alaska law defines second-degree burglary as entering or remaining unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime there. The court record lists the 18-year-old's counts as class C felonies, alleging theft of property worth $750 to $24,999 and damage of $750 or more.

The 18-year-old was scheduled for an in-custody arraignment at 2:30 pm Friday. As of 4:19 pm Friday, the court record showed no result from that hearing and no next court date.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
