An Anchorage firm maintains nine Florida federal buildings on a $25 million GSA deal

An Anchorage company is getting another $23,553 from the federal government to fix a rusted-out floor and a broken fire alarm at a federal courthouse in Jacksonville, Florida — one of dozens of such repair jobs it has picked up there this year.

Katmai Integrated Solutions LLC keeps up nine federal buildings and courthouses across Florida — in Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Ocala and Ft. Myers — under a deal with the General Services Administration worth up to nearly $25 million, signed last August and running through 2028. The GSA, which manages federal buildings nationwide, handed the contract to Katmai without competition under the 8(a) program for Alaska Native and tribally owned firms, and drew a single offer.

The latest repairs run through the end of November. They are the small end of the company's steady work at these buildings. A separate order in mid-August put $70,228 toward a failed refrigerant monitor and generator control panel at the same courthouse. The day before the floor-and-alarm job, the GSA committed $463,684 to Katmai for urgent cooling tower repairs at another Jacksonville federal building, and back in July the courthouse drew $76,944 to fix a sanitary leak in one of its courtrooms.
