When something breaks at the federal courthouse in Memphis, the government calls Anchorage.

The General Services Administration has placed five orders this year with Chitina Diversified Services at the Odell Horton Federal Building, together worth about $514,000. A roll-up door. Replacement windows. Paint and carpet in judges' chambers. And now $34,232 for work on the U.S. Court seals, running Sept. 2 through Dec. 2.

All five are calls against a single standing contract Chitina has held since December 2024, covering small construction jobs across GSA's southeastern region. The agency competed it as a small business set-aside and received eight offers.

Chitina is a subsidiary of Chitina Native Corporation, the village corporation for Chitina in the Copper River valley. Federal records list 51 contract actions to the company worth about $63.7 million, among them $7.5 million for repairs at the Howard H. Baker Jr. courthouse in Knoxville.

None of the work is in Alaska.
