Anchorage Assembly set to waive protest of Serrano's liquor license renewal

Serrano's Mexican Grill, the Mexican restaurant on East Tudor Road, is on track to renew its liquor license without a hitch. The Anchorage Assembly is expected to waive its right to object at its meeting Tuesday — a routine step that clears the way for the renewal — and the state's alcohol board takes up the license in early September.

The renewal drew no red flags: the restaurant owes no taxes, the police department raised no concerns, and neither the business nor its local community council has raised any objection. With the Assembly's sign-off, the license moves to the state for final approval.
