A missing health certification is holding up the Homestead Lounge's liquor license transfer

A missing health certification is holding up the sale of the liquor license at The Homestead Lounge, the Eagle River bowling alley, bar and bingo hall on Regency Drive.

If the Assembly approves the protest, it will hold state processing at the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office until the health certification arrives. The municipal clerk can then lift the protest without further Assembly action. The application also remains before the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which will decide whether to approve the transfer.

The sale is not new. The seller signed the transfer in August 2025 and the state alcohol office received it that November, but the municipal clerk received the application July 7, setting a Sept. 5 protest deadline. Tuesday's meeting is the Assembly's last regular meeting before that deadline, and the resolution sets a public hearing where the applicant may defend the transfer.
