60 mph gusts forecast for Portage, Anchorage Hillside Sunday

A Gulf of Alaska storm system will bring strong winds to Southcentral Alaska on Sunday, with sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph and gusts to 60 mph in Portage and the Anchorage Hillside.

The National Weather Service issued special weather statements Saturday for Portage, Anchorage, Eagle River, East Turnagain Arm, and the lower Matanuska Valley. The timing runs late Sunday morning through Sunday evening.
