Jedidia Atchak, 40, has been missing from Chevak since Aug. 7, and no new search has been announced

Jedidia Atchak, a 40-year-old Chevak resident, remains missing after several days of searching, the Alaska State Troopers said. He was reported missing Aug. 7, and search efforts continued through Aug. 11 without finding him.

The Chevak Police Department organized the first search, using drones and boats. Search and rescue teams from Chevak and neighboring Hooper Bay kept looking through the following days. Searchers turned up nothing.

Troopers have not said where Atchak was last seen or the circumstances of his disappearance, and have not announced when the Chevak search will resume. They said they would continue following up on leads as they come in.
