Juneau job seekers can meet several employers in one stop this week

Job seekers in Juneau can meet a number of employers in a single visit this Thursday, when the state labor department holds a multi-employer recruiting event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The catch: the department's bulletin doesn't say which employers will be there, what jobs are open, or what they pay — and the event isn't listed on the department's own job fairs page. So anyone planning to go should call the Juneau Job Center first, at (907) 465-4562, to confirm.

A couple of other hiring events are on the calendar in Juneau over the coming weeks:

• Tlingit and Haida job fair — 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall.

• Resume and career-planning help — job center staff offer drop-in assistance at SERRC on Ferry Way, 9 a.m. to noon every other Thursday through September.
