Eielson Air Force Base hiring fair set for Thursday

Job seekers in the Fairbanks area can attend a hiring fair at Eielson Air Force Base on Thursday, Aug. 6, promoted by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

For now, that's most of what's public. The department's bulletin gives only the date and base, pointing to a flyer it didn't actually include, and lists no time, exact venue, participating employers, positions or base-access requirements. Since Eielson is a secured installation you can't simply drive onto, anyone planning to go will want to track down the access details before Thursday.

Two Eielson job openings are on the department's radar the same week. A federal laborer announcement on USAJobs lists 12 vacancies, with applications due Thursday. The department's job fairs page also lists student summer hire and recreation aide positions in Fairbanks.

One thing worth knowing before applying anywhere federal: resumes submitted through USAJobs now face a page limit. As department guidance recently put it, job seekers will need to make new resumes of two pages or fewer.
