Troopers arrest Wasilla driver on DUI, assault charges after rollover

A rollover crash at North Wasilla-Fishhook Road and East Summit Circle left a driver and a passenger with minor injuries late Wednesday. Alaska State Troopers arrested the driver, Aaron Swearingen, 26, of Wasilla, on charges of driving under the influence and fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor that covers recklessly causing injury. The charges are accusations. Swearingen is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Troopers said they received a report of the crash at about 11:23 p.m. on Sept. 9, case AK26089698. Investigators determined Swearingen had been driving under the influence of alcohol, troopers said. He was booked into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
