Troopers arrest Sutton man, 19, on DUI charge after car hits tree

A vehicle struck a tree and overturned into a ditch on E Jonesville Mine Road near Eska Creek in Sutton early Saturday, and Alaska State Troopers arrested the driver on a charge of driving under the influence.

Troopers responded to the single-vehicle collision at about 2:52 a.m. on Aug. 29, according to the B Detachment dispatch, case AK26085372. Investigators determined the driver, a Sutton man, 19, had been driving while intoxicated, troopers said. He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Troopers said the charge is an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The dispatch does not say whether anyone was injured, or whether anyone else was in the vehicle. It does not include court information either.
