Alaska State Troopers arrested a Pitka's Point man, 27, Thursday, Oct. 8, on eight counts of sexual abuse of a minor and sexual assault.

Troopers said they received a report of possible sexual abuse of a minor in the village at 2:15 am Tuesday, Oct. 6. They made the arrest two days later, following what the agency called a thorough investigation.

The man faces one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, three counts of second-degree, one of third-degree and one of fourth-degree, plus two counts of second-degree sexual assault. The charges are accusations. Troopers said he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

He will be held at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center. C Detachment posted the case Friday in its daily dispatch.

The arrest is one of several recent sexual-abuse cases troopers have announced. On Oct. 5, they arrested a Scammon Bay man, 39, on first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree sexual assault charges after a report dating to October 2025. On Oct. 9, they arrested a Venetie man, 41, on one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor following a September report from the Fairbanks Rural area. On Oct. 2, they arrested a Wasilla man, 66, in Homer on nine charges, including one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, five of second-degree and three of third-degree. In June, they arrested a Ketchikan man, 24, in Metlakatla on three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor after the Metlakatla Police Department sought help on a historical case.
