Troopers arrest Palmer man on felony charge over mobile home abandoned on Old Glenn Highway

A wheelless mobile home towed from Palmer and abandoned in a pullout near mile 12 of the Old Glenn Highway caused about $3,000 in roadway damage during the tow, Alaska State Troopers say. Troopers arrested Aaron Musquiz, 21, of Palmer, on Saturday, saying investigators identified him as the person who abandoned it.

Troopers were notified of the abandoned mobile home on Aug. 7 and found it completely blocking the pullout, the dispatch says.

Musquiz was charged with criminal mischief in the third, fourth and fifth degrees and false report, and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial. The third-degree count is a class C felony; the others are misdemeanors. The charges are accusations.

The account is entirely the troopers': the dispatch records no response from Musquiz.

State law makes abandoning a vehicle on a highway unlawful and holds the person responsible liable for removal and disposition costs. The mobile home is scheduled for removal during the week of Aug. 16.
