Troopers arrest Healy woman for trespassing in cabins near Denali

Krista Zappone, 37, of Healy was arrested Friday near Mile 229 of the Parks Highway in Denali after Alaska State Troopers said she trespassed and squatted in seasonal cabins. She is held without bail at Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Troopers received a report at 5:19 p.m. Zappone left on a motorcycle before they arrived. A second caller reported the motorcycle in his yard and said someone was inside his house, troopers said.

She was arrested on two counts of first-degree criminal trespass, one count of second-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree theft, two counts of violating conditions of release and tampering with a vehicle. The charges are accusations, and she is presumed innocent.

Troopers arrested Zappone on Sept. 3 near Sulfide Loop in Healy on a fourth-degree domestic violence assault charge, and again Sept. 9 on unlawful contact and violating conditions of release. She was held without bail each time.
