Healy woman held without bail after July 4 domestic violence arrest

A family member was injured in Healy on the Fourth of July after a late-night disturbance that ended with a 53-year-old woman in custody, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers received a 911 call at 10:37 p.m. Saturday. Their investigation determined that a Healy woman had assaulted a family member, causing injuries. She was arrested and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center, where she is held without bail pending arraignment on a charge of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. Troopers noted alcohol was a contributing factor. D Detachment handles law enforcement for Healy and surrounding rural Interior communities, and arrests there typically result in remand to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

All charges are accusations. The woman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. An arraignment date has not been announced.
