Fairbanks job fair Oct. 29 brings 27 employers, from Doyon and the FAA to Panda Express
Twenty-seven employers will be looking for workers at a state job fair in Fairbanks on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center.
The list on the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development's flyer runs from Doyon Limited and the Federal Aviation Administration to Panda Express, Thai House and Jiffy Lube. Foundation Health Partners, Fred Meyer, the Fairbanks Pioneer Home, Global Credit Union, Interior Weatherization, Odyssey Logistics, the Alaska Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve will also be there, along with the borough and the school district.
That's nearly twice the 15 employers, mostly retail, grocery, restaurants and banking, at the Fairbanks Job Center's September fair. The center's monthly fairs are usually held on the last Thursday of the month at the Fairbanks Regional Office Building.
The flyer suggests bringing a résumé. Job seekers who need one can print a few at the Fairbanks Job Center on Seventh Avenue, where staff also help with résumés, cover letters and interview preparation for free.
