Potter Creek Water Company has asked state regulators to raise its flat residential rate from $106.02 a month to as much as $122.91, and customers have until Oct. 16 to comment.

The Anchorage utility, serving the Potter Creek subdivision, filed a revenue requirement study with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska, the commission's notice published Friday says. A revenue requirement study is the math a utility uses to show regulators how much money it needs to cover its costs. This one is built on 2025 numbers.

The company seeks a 15.93% increase in monthly fees if the commission suspends the filing for a fuller review, and 10% if it does not, according to the notice. A 10% increase would bring the flat rate to about $116.62.

The filing also proposes changes to one-time fees, known as non-recurring charges; a daytime turn-on or turn-off would rise from $134 to $145. The notice does not say how many customers the utility serves.

The notice isn't a final decision. The commission could approve, suspend or modify the proposal. Comments are due by 5 pm Oct. 16 on the commission's website or by mail to 701 W. Eighth Ave., Suite 300, Anchorage, AK 99501, with a copy sent to the company. The filing can be searched by utility name in the RCA's public library.

The company's last rate study, filed in 2023, moved residential customers from metered to flat rates.
