Kodiak woman, 71, arrested for DUI after crash into parked wildlife trooper vehicle

A parked Alaska Wildlife Trooper patrol vehicle was struck at the Russian River while the trooper was on foot contacting fishermen nearby. Alaska State Troopers arrested the driver, a 71-year-old Kodiak woman, on one count of driving under the influence.

Troopers responded to the collision at 5:52 p.m. Thursday, July 30. The dispatch lists the incident location as Kodiak. No injuries were reported. The woman was remanded to the Kodiak Jail.

Troopers said their investigation determined the driver was heavily intoxicated. The charge is an accusation. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
