Juneau candidate filing closes July 27 for five Assembly and school board seats

Juneau residents have until 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, to file candidacy paperwork with the City Clerk's Office at 155 Heritage Way for the October 6, 2026 regular municipal election. The filing window opened at 8 a.m. Friday, July 17, giving prospective candidates roughly ten days to complete and submit their materials. Late filings will not be accepted.

Five seats are open: one Assembly Areawide seat, Assembly District 1 and District 2 seats, and two Board of Education seats. All carry three-year terms.

To be certified, candidates must deliver four documents in printed form: a Declaration of Candidacy, an Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure, a Nominating Petition signed by at least 25 registered Juneau voters, and an Acceptance of Nomination.
