Fish and Game's women's outdoor program sets its last five Anchorage classes of 2026
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program, BOW Southcentral, will hold its final five Anchorage classes of 2026 in November and December. The classes are for women 18 and older, and those who have not attended BOW classes before get priority. All but one meet at Rabbit Creek Shooting Park.
Two classes require hunter education certification, and registration for both is open. The Mountain Huntress Clinic runs 8:30 am to 5 pm Saturday, Nov. 7, with a day of hands-on activities covering Dall sheep and mountain goat hunting. It costs $55, and 19 spots remain. Handgun Fit and Function meets 5:30 to 9:30 pm Friday, Nov. 13. It costs $165, with seven spots left.
Shotgun Cleaning on Dec. 1 and Rifle Cleaning on Dec. 9 both run 5 to 8 pm and cost $10. Registration opens at 9 am Nov. 2 for the shotgun class and Nov. 9 for the rifle class.
Archery 101, an introductory class for beginners who don't have their own equipment, runs 5 to 9 pm Dec. 15 at Full Curl Archery. It costs $25, and registration opens at 9 am Nov. 15.
