A Kenai hunter education class opens for sign-ups this fall
Alaska Fish and Game is offering a hunter education class in Kenai this fall, with 20 seats opening for sign-up on Sept. 10. The $29 course covers firearms safety, wildlife conservation, and respect for landowners and other hunters, and includes an in-person field day at the Snowshoe Gun Club in late October, paired with an online portion students complete beforehand.
The class runs through the department's "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" program, which is aimed at women but open to men as well. The department is also offering a separate wilderness first aid class in Kenai in September, which still has spots open.
