Cook Inlet Tribal Council runs free career classes toward certification
Free career classes run weekly at Cook Inlet Tribal Council, 3600 San Jeronimo Drive in Anchorage, each 90 minutes and counting toward the ARCTIC Workforce Certification, a credential built one course at a time.
The Power of Resilience meets Wednesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. Anger in the Workplace runs the same morning, 10 to 11:30. Developing a Leadership Mindset, held Tuesday, repeats at noon Sept. 22 and Sept. 29.
CITC's listing says the resilience class is aimed at people who have navigated adversity. It frames resilience as strength participants already carry, not as pushing through hardship. The anger course presents anger as a secondary emotion from unmet needs, stress or feeling unheard, and says responding rather than reacting can be learned.
Registering with CITC takes a photo ID and proof of address, plus proof of Alaska Native or American Indian status if that applies; walk-ins are welcome weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Questions: 907-793-3467.
