Bethel man arrested for DUI near Cooper Landing after a REDDI report
A driver reported swerving into oncoming traffic on the Sterling Highway near Cooper Landing on Friday night was arrested on a drunken-driving charge, Alaska State Troopers said. Troopers located the vehicle near mile 45 and identified the driver as Dustin Jackson, 23, of Bethel. He was held at Spring Creek Correctional Center.
The report came in around 9:22 p.m. through REDDI, the state's Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately line. The charge is an accusation, and Jackson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
It is not the first such arrest on the corridor this summer. Alaska News reported a July 18 drunken-driving arrest near mile 39, where a 46-year-old Anchorage woman was held on $500 bail.
