Troopers arrest three for DUI across Alaska

Alaska State Troopers arrested three drivers for DUI on May 29 and 30, including a Seward man who led troopers on a high-speed chase and a Fairbanks driver reported through the REDDI hotline.

Ethan Lane, 44, of Seward fled troopers northbound on the Seward Highway for seven miles late May 29, reaching 100 mph. His preliminary breath test showed 0.144 percent. Lane was charged with felony eluding, DUI, DUI refusal, and driving with a revoked license.

Justin Sammons, 33, of Fairbanks was arrested May 29 evening after troopers received a REDDI report that he had left a residence while intoxicated. Troopers found his vehicle swerving on the Richardson Highway near mile 361.

Austin Sorenson, 21, of Soldotna was stopped early May 30 near Mile 19 of Kalifornsky Beach Road for an equipment violation. He showed signs of impairment, performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and refused a breath sample. Blood was collected through a search warrant at CPH Hospital.
