BBNC hosts youth and young adult event on careers and scholarships in Kenai
Bristol Bay Native Corporation and the Bristol Bay Foundation will host BBNC shareholders and descendants ages 14 to 26 in Kenai on Saturday, Nov. 21, for an afternoon on careers and scholarships.
Young people can learn about career resources, scholarships, education opportunities and shareholder services, according to the event listing. There will also be pizza, games, prizes and giveaways.
The event runs from noon to 3 pm at the Quality Inn in Kenai. The first 10 people to register get a $25 gift card.
The foundation was founded in 1992 to provide higher education support for Alaska Native students. It has awarded more than $13 million in scholarships to 5,387 students, according to its website.
BBNC is also offering commercial driver's license training in Kenai this fall for shareholders, their spouses and descendants who live in Alaska, Alaska News reported in September.
