Bartlett Regional Hospital posts 39 job openings in one week

Bartlett Regional Hospital posted 40 job openings in the week ending June 4, according to the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development's weekly hot jobs list for the Juneau area. The openings span clinical, administrative, and support roles at Juneau's community hospital.

The hospital's postings account for approximately half of the 79 total Juneau-area job openings listed by the department for the week. Positions range from director-level roles in emergency services, rehabilitation, and pharmacy to frontline staff including registered nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and orthopedic physicians.

Support and facilities openings include environmental services technicians and leads, food service assistants, a groundskeeper, and security officers. Many positions are listed as both full-time and PRN. PRN staff work variable hours as needed.

As a hospital serving Southeast Alaska, Bartlett Regional adjusts staffing to meet both baseline local healthcare needs and seasonal surges from tourism and regional travel. That makes flexible staffing categories like PRN particularly important for departments like emergency, environmental services, and food service.

Bartlett CEO Joe Wanner told the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly the hospital is working to expand housing options for staff. "Long term, we would like to increase, double the size of Bartlett House, adding some 2-bedroom apartments so we have landing spots for our employees," Wanner said.
