Anchorage hunters can zero rifles at free sight-in day July 8

Anchorage-area hunters heading into fall season have a structured opportunity to zero their rifles next week: the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's Alaskans Afield program is hosting a sight-in day at Rabbit Creek Shooting Park, July 8, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The event puts a chronograph station, an on-site gunsmith, and one-on-one assistance on the 100-yard range in one place, at no additional charge beyond the park's standard daily range fees. Hunters can arrive at any point during the window and should plan for roughly an hour on site; last check-in is at 7:30 p.m.
