Katie Koester is the City Manager for the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, having begun in the role in September 2023 after previously serving as CBJ’s Director of the Public Works and Engineering Department starting in 2020. Before joining Juneau’s government, she served for five years as the City Manager of Homer, Alaska, and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast, a Master of Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Smith College.
