Wasilla traffic stop surfaces two residents wanted on theft charges

Alaska State Troopers stopped a Chevy pickup towing a boat on Ronnies Circle and Foothills Drive in Wasilla just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and found both occupants wanted on active arrest warrants.

Troopers initiated the stop for equipment violations and a flat tire on the boat trailer. The driver, Thomas Fidler, 56, of Wasilla, faces charges of first-degree theft, first-degree vehicle theft, and five counts of second-degree theft. He is held at Mat-Su Pretrial on $7,500 cash bail.

His passenger, Sabreena Brewer, 31, also of Wasilla, faces charges of second-degree theft, fraudulent use of a stolen access device, and fourth-degree theft. She is held on $1,000 cash bail.

Both cases are pending further court proceedings.

All charges are accusations. Fidler and Brewer are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
