Unalaska council appoints election judges for Oct. 6 vote
The Unalaska City Council appointed judges and clerks to run the General Municipal Election on Oct. 6, adopting Resolution 2026-53 on Sept. 8. The resolution also named three judges to the Canvass Committee. Draft minutes say it passed on the consent agenda without objection.
The election board must report to the Unalaska Precinct polling place at Unalaska City Hall at 7:30 a.m. and remain until polls close at 8 p.m. Nonemployee judges and clerks will be paid $20 an hour, funded through the City Clerk's Office FY27 budget.
Estkarlen Magdaong chairs both the election board and the Canvass Committee. Yvonne Sabater serves on both bodies. Christy Berikoff, Peter Withers and Judy Huling are listed among the election board personnel, and Shari Coleman among the canvass judges.
The Canvass Committee meets at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
