The Kodiak Island Borough posted unofficial results from its Oct. 6, 2026, municipal election on Tuesday. Six votes separate third and fourth place in the race for three Assembly seats carrying three-year terms.

Mark Anthony Vizcocho leads the seven-candidate field with 714 votes, followed by Arndt with 586. Jeremy Williamson has 542 votes to Kaleb Callahan's 536. For a one-year Assembly seat, Alexander Sweeney has 618 votes to Caroline Roberts' 573. Katherine Irons and Duncan Fields, the only candidates for two school board seats, received 1,001 and 816 votes.

The borough's unofficial tally lists 742 ballots still to be canvassed. Of those, 695 were sent to voters in the borough's vote-by-mail precincts: Chiniak, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, Port Lions, Larsen Bay, Akhiok and Karluk. Another 22 went out as absentee ballots, and 25 are questioned or special-needs ballots. That means election-night totals can still change before anyone is declared a winner. All ballots must be returned by 5 pm Tuesday, Oct. 13, the tally says.

The Canvass Board will meet at 9 am Wednesday, Oct. 14, to canvass the remaining ballots, according to the borough's notice. Certification of the election is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15.

Candidates who hold their leads through the canvass and certification will take office Monday, Oct. 19, the notice said.
