Troopers list three Two Rivers children as missing runaways after they left home on foot
Alaska State Troopers entered three Two Rivers children, ages 14, 15 and 16, as missing and runaway after they left their home on foot late Saturday following an argument.
Troopers got the call at about 11:23 pm Oct. 31 from the home in Two Rivers, near Fairbanks, according to the Department of Public Safety daily dispatch.
The children's guardian told troopers she was disciplining them by grounding them and taking away their cellphones. An argument followed, and all three left on foot, dressed for the weather.
The three are believed to be at a friend's house somewhere in the nearby neighborhood, but the guardian doesn't know where, according to the dispatch. It was posted early Sunday and doesn't say whether the children have since been found, and it doesn't give their names.
Alaska has no waiting period for reporting a missing person, and the state advises calling 911 right away when there's an emergency or immediate concern for someone's safety, according to the department's search and rescue page.
