Troopers: hatchet attack on partner at a Kenai campground
A camping trip at a Kenai Peninsula lake turned violent Thursday night when a Wasilla woman allegedly attacked her partner with a hatchet, choked him, and pelted him with full beer cans, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Troopers were called to a disturbance at Kelly Lake campground near Cooper Landing around 7:26 p.m. and arrested Lorraine Fairchild, 44.
She faces assault, criminal mischief, and a charge for allegedly violating conditions of release — meaning she was already under court restrictions from an earlier case when this happened. She was taken to Wildwood Pretrial.
The charges are accusations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
