Troopers arrest Fairbanks man, 25, after reported robbery at Beaver Sports

Alaska State Troopers arrested a 25-year-old Fairbanks man on robbery, weapons and assault charges Monday after a robbery was reported at Beaver Sports in Fairbanks.

Troopers responded to the store at 1:46 pm, according to the Department of Public Safety's Daily Dispatch. The dispatch says an investigation determined he committed first-degree robbery, third-degree misconduct involving a weapon and third-degree assault. He was arrested and taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

The dispatch does not describe what was taken or whether anyone was hurt.

Beaver Sports is a locally owned Fairbanks outdoor gear and sporting goods retailer with more than 50 years of experience.

The department said the charges are accusations. The man is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court.
