Fairbanks man faces assault charges after early-morning disturbance near Yvonne Avenue

Alaska State Troopers arrested a Fairbanks man early Saturday on three assault charges after responding to a reported domestic-violence disturbance.

Troopers received a call at approximately 3:29 a.m. from a third party reporting a disturbance off Yvonne Avenue. The man, identified as 30 years old, was taken into custody and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. He faces one count of fourth-degree assault and two counts of assault in the presence of a child. Under Alaska law, assault committed in the presence of a child is a separate offense from the underlying assault.

All charges are accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
