Troopers arrest Anchor Point woman on DUI charge after REDDI call
A report of a red BMW driving erratically led Alaska State Troopers to arrest a 68-year-old Anchor Point woman on a DUI charge Thursday, Sept. 10.
The Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately call came in at 5:11 p.m., and the trooper dispatch, case AK26090023, gives Anchor Point as the location. The caller described the BMW tailgating, speeding, passing a vehicle on the shoulder, weaving across the center and fog lines, passing at least two vehicles with oncoming traffic present, and attempting to pass on curves in no-passing zones.
Troopers found the car, pulled it over, and identified the woman as its only occupant and its driver. She was taken into custody at the Homer Jail on a single count of DUI, the only charge the dispatch lists. The charge is an accusation, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
The dispatch does not say whether troopers independently observed the reported driving.
