TCC is hiring village residents to update tribal plans and write grants
Tanana Chiefs Conference, the consortium of Interior Alaska tribes, is taking applications from village residents for paid jobs updating their tribes' community plans and writing grants. Applications, available at tribal offices, are due Dec. 18.
The contracts pay $22.50 an hour for up to 400 hours, or up to $9,000, from Feb. 1 through May 31, 2027. TCC awards up to 20 contracts a year, 10 per cycle, and trains people for both jobs, according to its program page.
Community planning specialists, who must be at least 16, help tribes with expired five-year plans write new ones by running public meetings and community surveys. Grant development specialists, who need a high school diploma or GED, work in villages with current plans to write grant proposals.
Applicants must live in the village they apply for, and tribal council members can't take the jobs during the contract.
