Four TCC employees selected for ANTHC leadership programs

Four Tanana Chiefs Conference employees have been selected for competitive nine-month leadership development programs run by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, designed to strengthen leadership skills across the Alaska Tribal Health System and prepare participants for greater responsibility.

Courtney Tietz, a Clinical Informatics Analyst I, and Mary Beth Cordova, a digital solutions developer, both from TCC's IT department, were chosen for the Pathways to Leadership program. Lawreen Buresch, TCC's Tribal Government Services Manager, and Elizabeth Shoemaker, Senior Administrative Support Manager for Clinical Services, were selected for the LEAD program. TCC announced the selections Monday.

The programs combine mentorship, hands-on learning, strategic projects, and monthly training. They emphasize Native leadership values, cultural knowledge, communication, organizational leadership, problem-solving, and systems improvement, while expanding participants' professional networks throughout tribal healthcare.

TCC operates the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center in Fairbanks and village clinics across 42 member tribes and roughly 235,000 square miles. ANTHC runs the programs as part of the broader Alaska Tribal Health System. TCC framed the selections as advancing its vision of "Healthy, Strong, Unified Tribes."
