Juneau recruiting event set for Thursday is not on the state's job fairs list

Job seekers in Juneau can meet several employers in one stop Thursday, when the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development is scheduled to hold a multi-employer recruiting event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a department subscriber bulletin.

The bulletin does not name the participating employers, the open positions, or the wages offered, and it is the only account of the event available. The department's own job fairs page, updated Wednesday, carries no Juneau listing for Thursday. Anyone planning to attend should call the Juneau Job Center first, at (907) 465-4562. The center is at 10002 Glacier Highway, Suite 100, the address department recruitment flyers have used for local hiring events.

The page does list two other Juneau events. The Tlingit and Haida job fair runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, 320 W. Willoughby Ave. Job center staff offer resume and career planning help at SERRC, 210 Ferry Way, from 9 a.m. to noon every other Thursday through September.

The department also lists recruitments through the Alaska Job Center Network and AlaskaJobs.
