Kasilof man leads troopers on 4-wheeler chase, caught with 2017 felony warrants

Bryan Gheen, 50, of Kasilof fled a traffic stop on a 4-wheeler late Friday and was arrested after a chase near Soldotna ended at a dead-end campsite, where troopers discovered he had been wanted on felony warrants since 2017.

Troopers initiated the stop near North Coho Loop Road at approximately 10:17 p.m. for a moving violation. Gheen did not yield. Troopers followed him for a couple of miles at speeds between 45 and 60 mph through a posted 45 mph zone before the pursuit ended when he stopped at a dead-end campsite down a beach access trail.

Investigation revealed Gheen had several outstanding felony warrants dating to 2017. He now faces new misdemeanor failure-to-yield and Petition to Revoke Probation charges in addition to his outstanding warrants. Troopers remanded him to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

All charges are accusations. Gheen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
