Kasilof man leads troopers on 4-wheeler chase, caught with 2017 felony warrants

Bryan Gheen, 50, of Kasilof fled a traffic stop on a four-wheeler late Friday and was arrested after a short chase near Soldotna ended at a dead-end campsite — where troopers learned he had been wanted on felony warrants since 2017.

Troopers tried to pull Gheen over near North Coho Loop Road around 10:17 p.m. for a traffic violation, but he didn't stop. They followed him for a couple of miles, at 45 to 60 mph through a posted 45 mph zone, before he turned down a beach access trail and stopped at a dead-end campsite.

A check turned up several felony warrants for Gheen dating back to 2017. On top of those, he now faces a new misdemeanor charge for failing to yield to the troopers, along with a petition to revoke his probation. Troopers booked him into the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

The charges are accusations. Gheen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
