
Anchorage man held without bail after 80 mph pursuit through Wasilla
A driver allegedly fled through Wasilla at more than 80 mph early Tuesday, running red lights and stop signs before Alaska State Troopers and Wasilla Police stopped the vehicle.
Troopers spotted a white GMC pickup committing traffic violations near Lucille Street at approximately 12:04 a.m. The driver, later identified as Wyatt Baker, 21, of Anchorage, was taken into custody and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer. Bail was set at no bail.
Baker faces two charges: Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree. According to Alaska State Troopers, "The driver, later identified as Wyatt Baker, age 21 of Anchorage, continued through red lights and stop signs, reaching speeds in excess of 80 MPH."
